Ingredients

For the noodle salad
200g/7oz whole wheat noodles, cooked according to packet instructions and drizzled with groundnut oil to prevent sticking
200g/7oz red radishes, washed and quartered
½ cucumber, halved lengthways, de-seeded and chopped
1 small handful black sesame seeds or toasted sesame seeds
fresh coriander sprigs, to garnish

For the sesame soy dressing
3 tbsp light soy sauce
3 tbsp toasted sesame oil
3 tbsp Chinese black rice vinegar or balsamic vinegar

1-2 tbsp groundnut oil
1 red pepper, de-seeded and finely sliced

8 large king prawns, de-veined, shelled (leaving tails on), heads removed
1 tbsp grated fresh root ginger
1 red chilli, de-seeded and finely chopped
½ onion, chopped
50g/2oz canned pineapple, drained and chopped
200ml/7fl oz pineapple juice
1 small handful chopped red and yellow pepper
1 small handful fresh beansprouts
salt and freshly ground black pepper
½ lime, juice only
honey, to taste
1 spring onion, finely sliced
steamed jasmine rice, to serve

How to make Chinese Pork and Bamboo Shoot Stir Fry, Chinese Food Made Easy with Ching He Huang.

Ingredients:

1 tbsp groundnut oil
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
3 dried Chinese mushrooms, pre-soaked in hot water for 20 minutes, drained and chopped
225g skinless pork fillets, cut into thin strips
1 tsp Shaohsing rice wine or dry sherry
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tsp dark soy sauce
A few pinches of five spice powder
100g pickled chilli bamboo shoots, drained and cut into strips
1 cucumber, peeled and deseeded and sliced lengthways using a potato peeler
Steamed jasmine rice to serve

2 tbsp groundnut oil
1 tbsp grated fresh root ginger
1 red chilli, de-seeded, finely chopped
5 fresh shiitake mushrooms, sliced
2 tsp ground turmeric
100g/3½oz smoked bacon, finely chopped
1 red pepper, de-seeded and sliced
1 handful julienned carrot strips
1 handful beansprouts
100g/3½oz cooked chicken breast, shredded
250g/9oz dried vermicelli rice noodles, pre-soaked in hot water for 10 minutes and drained
1 tsp crushed dried chillies
2 tbsp light soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp clear rice vinegar or cider vinegar
1 free-range egg, beaten
dash toasted sesame oil
2 spring onions, sliced lengthways
